SCOIL BHRÍDE BATTLE BRAVELY AGAINST HUNTSTOWN

The Scoil Bhríde girls played their second match of the season last Thursday, 5th October, in Russell Park. They came up against Sacred Heart National School from Huntstown, a team the girls had lost to last year so  they were  looking to improve the result this time around!
What was evident from the start was how much the girls have made progress with their kicking, blocking, tackling and hand-passing. The team-work that was on show was also particularly impressive, especially from the midfield pairing of Betsy and Rachel.
Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of the girls, the result did not go our way in the end. It finished Sacred Heart 1-3 to Scoil Bhríde 0-1. It could have been a different story if the girls had been a bit luckier with their shots, many of which missed the target by the smallest of margins.
However, the team can be extremely proud of their efforts. They never gave up and continued to help one another, as all good teams should. Player of the match goes to Eva Nulty, who was a constant threat for the Sacred Heart defenders. Maith thú Eva!!
Girsl who played on the day were:
Oliwia, Favour, Ella, Juliet, Aoibhe, Sinéad, Betsy, Rachel, Leah, Molly, Abilily, Neep, Phuong Linh, Aoife, Nicole, Francine, Leanne, Niamh (6th class)
Aoibhe Mc., Eva, Hannah (5th class)
